Absolutely beautiful Rattlesnake. I live in Ohio, and these snakes are quite rare. So many people kill them on site. I wish people would call someone to remove the snake and stop killing them. Most of the time, people will find out that these animals will not bother people if they just leave them alone. Most people who are bitten by venomous snakes are usually bitten because they are trying to kill the snake or they are aggravating it.

I used to take the shovel to them because that's what we did as I grew up, but I became unafraid of them after picking a few up with a grabber and giving them to my neighbor's barn. Now I just shew them off or carry them next door, they get into my attic no matter how much I try to block it off, and the house is tight so if a mouse can get in, so can a snake. They are chasing the mice up there so it okay I guess, knock on wood I've never seen one inside, only skins in the attic. They are actually real pretty animals once I saw them up close and seem real docile. They just want to be left alone, and several people have told me they will run off copperheads and rattlers here in Virginia, is that a fact?

That's great that you admire the Copperhead so much. Why not let him bite you so you can see first-hand how it feels and what the repercussions are? Then you can say you were bitten by a beautiful snake. Do it! Take one for the team so we can share your enthusiasm for such a beautiful creature. Then move on to the water moccasin. Do a video!

I always learn cool new info with every video. I have tried to photograph glass lizards in situ and they are very wary and quick. I'm going to guess the next genus- Anaxyrus. I struggle to tell an American from a Fowlers from a Southern toad even when I can see the markings, so I'm not going to species level.

My personal life experience tells me that these snakes are very dangerous. They are camouflaged so well that when my friend's grandmother got bit by one, 2 other people almost got bit because they couldn't see it even knowing right where it was. She almost lost an arm. It swelled up like a balloon. According to her, the arm was never right again. My uncle, who was logging, got bit by one he had tissue death and lost his hand. The only 2 people I've ever known who got bit, both had a very negative experience with it. I don't think I've ever heard a copperhead bite compared to a bee sting. Maybe my life experience is anecdotal, maybe the bite is not that bad in most cases. But from what I've seen, it can be very devastating even if it does not kill you.
